Marina Barrage

Due to work, my last weekend was burn again. Since i have to be part of the Clean & Green Singapore and the opening of the Marina Barrage as my boss wanted to support the government bodies. So the cheapest way is to feature our only hybrid model there to create awareness as well as garner some sales which we didn't achieve at all since it is the wrong crowd.

So to kill time and avoid burned under the hot sun, I toured the Marina Barrage, which is a pretty nice place for picnic and a place to oversee the night view of the CBD area.

Below are pictures of the place:
Exterior shot.
Inside marina barrage where u can see our Civic Hybrid.
The reservoir. One side is the clear water and the other side is the sea water.

Play area for the kids as well as water sports.

View from the rooftop. Scenery of the Singapore Flyer and CBD.

Gallery 1: Something New? It showcase the environmental challenges of today. It has this huge "organic tree" that symbolises the uncertain state of our present environment.

A huge wall fixture using plastic bottles.

Gallery 2: A river runs through it. It recounts the clean-up of the Singapore and Kallang Rivers.

Gallery 3: Water, Water Everywhere. Features the Active, Beautiful, Clean waters programme launched by PUB in 2007. You can even create the ideal waterways around our homes.
Gallery 4: The Marina Barrage. It details the intricate construction and operations of the dam. You can watch what happens when rain falls and water builds up behind the barrage.

Also came across this water wall.

Gallery 5: Small Country, Big Efforts. It features Singapore's careful planning and management of its limited land area to maximise its potential. This little cubes represents the different locations of Singapore.

Gallery 6: I Do. It displays an unwavering commitment from our 3P (people, Private and Public) sectors to care for the environment and water. It also allow you to take a picture and place your commitment to the wall.

See how the place transform in the night. The night view is pretty amazing but somehow my camera can't do a good job and justice to the place.

So if you are interested, you can drop by Marina Barrage at 260 Marina Way. It is open from 9am - 6pm (weekdays) and 10am - 8pm (weekends) and close on every Tuesday.

A date with Princess Clara

We have a date with Princess Clara on Deepavali for a sumptuous buffet spread at the Peony Jade Restaurant at Clarke Quay. This is also the restaurant where Princess Clara's parents hold their wedding dinner place a year ago. Imagine 1 yr +, there is already a new additional member.

During her pregnancy, the mummy was already craving for the food as it is really tasting and most importantly, it was pretty value for money considering the quality of food. Hence, if you are interested, i will highly recommend that you go for the lunch since they serve the same food but it will cost a few dollars more for its dinner. For more details on the buffet spread, visit their website: http://www.peonyjade.com/filemanager/Peony%20Jade%20New%20Buffet%20Menu.pdf

Look at the spread.... We had a count at the end of the lunch that we actually completed 20 dishes out of the 40 dishes that they offer.

Me and my little darling princess, who was very cooperative with us as we lunch from 11:30 - 2:30pm. Really such a doll to bring her out.

That's the princess with Auntie Karin who still wanted to be called jie jie. Girl, we have all upgraded to aunties. Heehee. Anyway our little princess really love to put her hand in her mouth. Wonder when we can cure her little bad habit.

Another shot with Aunty Karin. This time round no hands in the mouth.

Prince Josh

It's been a while since I catch up with my little prince....have heard from mummy that the little prince can sit upright without any support but this little one is still lazy to make his first crawl.

So I was all excited to see him again. Below is now the slimmed down little prince...I guess he is growing taller so that's the main reason for his lost of weight.

See how well he is sitting?

Kind of bored being snapped. So I shall play with my feet for a while.

Okie..Stop snapping...I am getting a bit angry here. Note: He like to cover his ears up - his latest act.

Princess Clara

After all that busy work week, I haven't catch up with my little darlings aka godchildren. Don't know how much they have grown and their developments.

So I got a chance to meet up with my princess as we were celebrating Aunty Joann birthday.

The funny thing is I only took picture of my princess and not our mini celebration....so paiseh.

Presenting you - Princess Clara who seem to grow more and more like the daddy.

Trying to get a good and happy shot of the princess so mummy gave a helping hand.

Though she might look a bit boyish, i am sure she will be a pretty fine lady when she grow up as her mummy is a pretty lady as well and most importantly she was also a bit boyish when she is a baby.

F1 Pit Tour

If you are not aware, Honda does participate in the F1 but the results really sucks this seasons. So when F1 comes to Singapore, my company actually purchased 1 Sky Suite where 13 lucky customers, Honda VIPs as well as our company top management get a chance to see the first night race live in action.

Since i am part of the motorshow, I manage to get my colleague who is stationing at the sky suite to bring us along for the pit tour after our duty at motorshow. I am honestly not a big fan of F1 but going for the pit tour and hearing those engine sound and smell during the race actually create that atmosphere and make me real excited about F1.
So below are some shots taken during the tour.

The pit tour start from here where you will have a chance to catch the drivers doing interview and walking past. The sad thing is that we didn't manage to catch the big stars like hamiliton and Massa which my other colleagues during their pit tour.

Here is the recreation area where refreshments and beverages can be found. I actually actually saw the handsome driver from Honda - Jenson Button.

Here's the work space for Honda. The F1 car is still in parts & pieces. It real busy and exciting in here.

Another shot of the car.

My colleague and I

That's me. In the background, you can see another Honda driver - Rubens. Anyway by the end of the tour, my feet was actually giving way since i have been on my heels since the morning and all the walking from the pit tour and to the MRT, I couldn't walk straight when i reach home.

Singapore Motorshow 2008

Missing in action in my blog...that's largely because i have been working non-stop for the past weeks due to the Singapore Motorshow 2008 as i was required to be stationed at the booth. Though the participation rate is super low this year, we still have to participate due to a couple of reasons:

1. When we wanted to pull out, it was too late as we already made payment for the space and there is no refund.
2. Most importantly, our GM is actually the president of MTA (organiser of the motorshow) this year, which doesn't make sense for us to pull out.
So we have to still make the best out of our situation and below are the photos of our hard work:
Highlight of our booth: Honda F1 Car and also one of the most expensive thing we brought over. If not for F1, i would have been able to bring over the Honda Robot: ASIMO :-(

Other areas of the booth

We also decide the launch the all-new Honda City during the motorshow.

For this show, we also engage Michelle Chia as the emcee and she also make a few appearance over the weekend. She is a pretty friendly and approachable celebrity who even drop by with her finance, Shawn to say hi during her non-appearance days.

Also have a chance to meet up with MP - Teo Ser Lek who is the guest of honour for the Motorshow ... one of the more charming guy in the Parliament, right?

What is a motorshow, without pretty girls. So these are the models which i selected and spend a bomb on. They are actually very young, with the oldest at 21 and the youngest only at 16. Able to tell who is youngest and oldest? Quite fun to work with but at times still give me some headaches.

The marketing team. After we took this picture, we realise the last marketing team also have a similar picture and after that they are gone. Above that, those who does the motorshow will usually leave the company soon...so is there any tell-tale signs for me since i was fully responsible? heehee.

Me with my twin sister (aka colleague)...people keep suspecting that we are sisters and insist to see our work pass to verify. Anyway she is so much luckier than me since she is actually 1 yr younger than me but already a happy mum to a 5mths baby boy - Jerrell.

Me with m€y colleagues as well as arranging for a team shot with Michelle Chia.

Me alone with Michelle after her appearance at the first weekend. Should have took the picture before her appearance then we will have look nicer.

Anyway, it is indeed an experience for me to organise and participate in the motorshow. This is the part where i truly enjoy my job....have a great jobs satisfaction and fulfillment after seeing that the project is successfully done. But when i think of the environment and people, i just have lots of ????. Anyway have already concluded this place is not ideal for long term unless i am looking for a retirement job...so while waiting for the next opportunity to arise or knock at my door, I will try to make the best out of the situation..very positive right? But don't know how long it can continue. hehe.
