First Launch

After months of preparations, fustrations, last minute changes from the management, my first car launch was held at Shangri-La Hotel on 28 March 2008. As compared with my previous experiences, it is a much simpler affair. But i was still exhausted at the end of the whole launch as i was on my feet the whole day running around the hotel for the final coordination.



Though the jobs satisfaction is not as high as my previous experience, i am glad everything is over. So the next big thing will be the Singapore Motorshow in September. Hopefully, i can survive through it like i did for this event.

Random Things About Me

As usual, i don't have much to update on my blog as there isn't anything much happening in my life except that i brought a new Hp: Nokia 6500 slide. I am so glad that i got rid of that sickening phone that auto shut off on its own. The best thing is after trading in all my old phones, i got this phone for free. hehe. Just praying that it doesn't hang on its own like my previous phone. This is my final chance for Nokia. If it failed, then that's it with Nokia.

Over the past weeks, i have also make regular visit to my godson. You can see hw he have changed over the weeks and now become a more demanding baby requesting people to carry him and the minute we put him down he will start showing you that he is dissatisfied with his loud cries.

1 week old BB with different expression.. as usual his favourite tongue sticking out look and frowning "ah pek" look.

2 weeks old BB with god ma. Pls pardon me for having a messy hair as the mummy was focusing on her son and didnt tell me about my messy hair.

Latest pix of BB at 3 weeks old. See how the hair stand now. Dun really noe why but we just can't get it to stay down but we suspect he inherit it from his mum since we found similar pix when mummy was younger.

1 week old Josh

I finally get to visit and carry my godson for the first time last Friday. When we arrived at Josh's place, he was deep in sleep. He is a very handsome boy who has very stylo hair (his hair always look wet as if it has been styled). Not sure if mummy will shaved it off during the 1st month but it will be such a waste since he has such nice and thick hair.

So enough of talking and let you guys shared the joy of having a newborn entering the world.

1st look of my godson. He must be having a sweet dreams since he didn't seem to be bothered by our noises right beside him and was sleeping throughout.

Finally the sleeping prince is awake. He was actually having hippcups and mummy was trying to make him feel better. While I am there talking to him so he look at me through the side of the eyes. Will try to get a better shot when i visit him again.

Next in line will be my god-daughter (Clara)....another 3 mths to go but i might be going taiwan with my family on May 23. So hopefully clara can cooperate and let me say hi to her before i depart. Otherwise, i can only see her after the trip.

Arrival of Baby Josh

Based on my last entry on my god children's update, BB Josh was scheduled for a check-up on Monday (4 Feb) as contractions was detected during the gynae visit. So Mummy and godma (which is me) was all excited that BB will be arriving on Monday. However, it turned out to be a false alarm.

Godma still prayed that BB Josh will cooperate and arrive as the first baby of the year but again at 8pm, we realise hopes are dashed since mummy has no feeling at all. So mummy and godma was thinking exactly when BB Josh will choose to arrive? Then on 8 Feb, Mummy msg godma at 21:49 to inform her that water bag has burst and they are on the way to hospital. That really got godma excited and thinking that mummy is so accurate as mummy actually guessed BB Josh will arrive on 9 Feb.

Hence, on 9 Feb, 0634, BB Josh say hi to this beautiful world clocking in a weight of 3.305kg and length of 51cm....wow that's consider quite big as Mummy is pretty skinny. Below is an image of BB Josh which mummy mms to godma. So please bear with the resolution as Godma will update more pictures when she visit BB Josh this Friday... Really can't wait to get my hands on the young one.

It was a real coincident that after mummy msg godma, their friend from US call to catch up and was inform of the good news as well. This friend of mummy and godma also just delivered her 2nd baby late last year (if i am not wrong, it is in August or September). So for those who know who she is and like to look how cute and chubby her 2nd BB is. Take a look at the image below:

CNY Celebrations

As part of custom or should i say practise, day 1 of CNY is always spend at my uncle's house (dad's brother). This year is pretty quiet with everyone just sitting on the sofa and just staring / watching at the rectangle box (ie. TV) in the living room. We are really not close but we just have to go so to let people know that we are still alive and kicking. The reason why it is so quiet is because my cousin just got married last year and so she can no longer hang out with us on the 1st day since she will need to go to her husband's side relatives. Furthermore, my other cousin went back to malaysia to visit his in-laws together with his 3 kids. Hence, it is all very quiet since there is no kids around for us to play with and no common topic between the elders. After that, it is back home for more food and beauty sleep. Imagine the whole family slept from 2pm+ to ard 5+.

Formulae for Day 1 of CNY = BORING + MORE BORING

2nd day of CNY is our usual buffet dinner at my aunt's place (mum's side). Everyone will come back including my cousin who is based in Australia. So the young and old will all report strength for the dinner or else will risk being badmouth / gossip behind the back. Can tell how politics is my family right? But nvm, i don't really mind hanging out since i will see all the younger cousins grow old while we aged. We will also catch up and offer tips to the younger ones as they start to join us in the workforce and compare the benefits between the different fields that we are in. So you can tell it is not that boring afterall right? Plus, there is free food + ang bao why not right? I am so greedy.

Formulae for Day 2 of CNY = A little bit of fun

3rd day of CNY is a bit unusual for me. The reason being i joined my ex-P&Gers in our usual weekly gathering. So i actually finished 2 movies in a day...that's quite a record for me since i am someone who rarely watch movie. The 2 movies that i watched are P.S. I love you & Kung Fu Dung. I actually went with very low expectations for both shows since most of the reviews given was quite low. However, both shows are pretty entertaining i should say. There is many romantic or touching scenes from P.S I love you that will move and cause you to tear a bit. So if u have that special someone with you, this is a show that you can watch during this romantic February. As for Kung Fu Dung, Jay Chou is pretty funny in the show. The basketball and kung fu moves are pretty well done as well. Hence, both shows are pretty value for money.

By the time we finish 2 movies and you think we are done with the day then you are wrong. We continue the night with hours of gaming at Mind Cafes. We played a few games ranging from simple no brainer games to 1 that require us to play use some strategy. The day finally ended at 2:30am and i have to declare to limit this gathering from weekly to monthly or else my transport and entertainment expenses start to explore.

Formulae for Day 3 of CNY = FUN But Super Tired

Day 4 of CNY means that i need to start work tomorrow. How sad can that be? Which mean my long weekend just pass me like that and i actually don't feel that i actually relax and rested well enough. But i guess that how's life is... everything pass and go before u can realise and hold on it. But i should still be contended to not work for the past few days.

Random Updates

Nothing much happening in my life and hence there is not much to update in my blog. So below are some of the random update in my life over the past weeks:

1. Apart from preparing CNY cookies for our family friends, i was also asked to prepared some CNY lanterns for them. So below are some of the simple creations from me:

2. Got a free hamper from work since they are the displayed pieces from the CNY promo so my boss gave one to me. Yeah.. free bird nest. Above that, this year there are too many hampers for my GM so i heard they will split those that my GM don't want and share it with the office staff via a lucky draw. Hopefully i will be lucky and get a gd prize. so cheapsake hor but again i dun earn alot what so have to be a bit cheapsake mah.

3. Most interesting news of cos...will be my god son will be arriving anytime soon. He is already engage so just waiting for him to give mummy a big kick to burst the water bag and he will arrive to this world and celebrate CNY with us. Though gynae feel that he shd be here before CNY eve but i already told the mummy to bring along the make up kit in case BB decide to wait a while more and make it for the first CNY baby. The sad part for me will be not being able to visit them and welcome BB to the world becos my hse has the practise of praying to "天宫"so our hse has to be clean and for confinement and delivery it is deem as unclean so i can only visit them on 15th Feb. :-( So u can look out for more pictures then.

The funny thing is i am not the one delivering but i am equally excited as well. After my godson then in a few months will be my god daughter turn. What a exciting year ahead...

Before i say to 2007, i splurge and brought a little present for myself after much persuasion from my friend...you know who you are since you are the one who introduce this website to me and start persuading to go ahead.

After waiting for weeks, my present actually arrived together with the orders from my friend. So here we go:

Other than receiving my present, i also attended my first wedding in 2008. It is the wedding of my ex-colleagues: Christine and hubby Honson. Really saluate the bride as she actually completed 3 outfit and hairstyle change during the dinner. Anyway congratulations to her and i have a great time seeing people who i worked with in the past.

Last update is that my family tradition of preparing homemade cookies for Chinese new year has started. So i was actually baking away yesterday from 11am to 5pm. I am dog tired nw. There could be a 2nd round next week since there might not be sufficient to go around. Look at my creation....peanut cookies.

It is now countdown to the final 5 weeks. However, we are hoping that it will arrive abt a week earlier in time for Chinese New Year and if we are real lucky then he might be the first baby for the lunar year....wishful thinking by the godma. Waiting for gynae to inform that BB is lock in position and then it is real countdown. So excited for the arrival of my 1st godson. Hopefully, he will be familar to me.

As predicted by Godma krissy, it is realli a girl. haha. maybe i should realli change job since i have currently 100% accuracy at the predictions of the baby sex till date. Anyway, Minnie has been real active...kicking at mummy's tummy. Not to forget mummy also has a gd appetite so i bet Minnie will be an active and chubby baby. Anyway the new mum and dad has just decided on the name so let's all say hi to Clara Lee. Will start talking to Clara so she will be familar to me as well.

Real glad that i have a pair of godchildren all arriving this year and it help form a 好字. So if i really dun get married this lifetime at least i have this 2 godchildren to fuss around. haha

First Midnight Movie

Being brought up as cinderalla...not that i am pretty or have to slog at home with the housework but more clearly is that having protective mum means that i have to reach home before 12 midnight during my younger days. It is only starting from the past few years back, my protective mum finally remove the curfew though she still do call and nag at us when it reaches 11+.

As per my previous post, i have been hanging out lately with my ex-P&Gers and everytime it lasted overnight or till early next morning. Hence, our gathering ended the same yesterday with me watching my first ever midnight movie (American Gangster)...quite surprise hor to watch the first mignight only at the age of 27.

Storyline:

Denzel Washington, Russell Crowe, Brain Grazer, Steven Zaillian and Ridley Scott team to tell the true juggernaut success story of a cult figure from the streets of 1970s Harlem in Amercian Gangster.

Nobody used to notice Frank Lucas (Oscar winner Washington), the quiet driver to one of the inner city’s leading black crime bosses. Bt when his boss suddenly dies, Frank exploits the opening in the power structure to build his own empire and create his own version of the American Dream. Through ingenuity and a strict business ethic, he comes to rule the inner-city drug trade, flooding the streets with a purer product at a better price. Lucas outplays all of the leading crime syndicates and becomes not only one of the city’s mainline corrupters, but part of its circle of legit civic superstars.

Richie Roberts (Oscar winner Crowe) is an outcast cop close enough to the streets to feel a shift of conrol in the drug underworld. Roberts believes some is climbing the rungs above the known Mafia families and starts to suspect that a black power player has come from nowhere to dominate the scene. Both Lucas and Roberts share a rigorous ethical code that sets them apart from their own colleagues, making them lone figures on opposite sides of the law. The destinies of these two men will become intertwined as they approach a confrontation where only one of them can come out on top.

After Thoughts:

Considering I watch this movie at 1145pm and this show lasted a whole 2 hr 27 mins, it is still a good and straight-forward movie. Though i will say that at the middle, it was kind of slow for me. Certain scences is very like the Hong kong Movie - 门徒 so if you like 门徒 or like me enjoy those movie based on true story, American Gangster is one you should'nt missed.
